ভূমি মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব দাবীকৃত প্রতারক ধৃত

(ঢাকা, মঙ্গলবার, ০৪ জানুয়ারি, ২০২১) ভূমি মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব (মাঠ প্রশাসন) কর্মকর্তা পরিচয় দিয়ে বিভিন্ন মোবাইল নম্বর থেকে মাঠ পর্যায়ের রাজস্ব প্রশাসনের বিভিন্ন কর্মকর্তা/কর্মচারীর কাছে ফোন দিয়ে বিভিন্ন বিকাশ একাউন্টে টাকা পাঠানোর দাবী করা প্রতারক মোঃ সাজেদুর রহমান সাজিদকে ৩১ ডিসেম্বর ২০২০ তারিখে র‍্যাব-১ গ্রেপ্তার করেছে।

উল্লেখ্য, ভূমি মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব (মাঠ প্রশাসন) পরিচয় দিয়ে কতিপয় প্রতারক চক্রের সক্রিয় সদস্য বেশ কিছুদিন যাবত সাধারণ মানুষের সাথে প্রতারণা, মাদক ব্যবসাসহ নানাবিধ অপরাধ সংগঠিত করে আসছিল। এ ব্যাপারে আইন শৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনীকে অবহিত করা হয়েছিল এবং পত্রিকায় বেশ কয়েকবার বিজ্ঞপ্তিও প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে। ফলশ্রুতিতে র‍্যাব এ বিষয়ে ছায়া তদন্ত শুরু ও গোয়েন্দা নজরদারী বৃদ্ধি করার ফলে র‍্যাব-১ 'মোঃ সাজেদুর রহমান সাজিদ' নামে এক প্রতারককে গ্রেপ্তার করতে সমর্থ হয়। ভূমি মন্ত্রণালয় মাঠ প্রশাসনের সকল পর্যায়ে প্রতারণার ব্যাপারে সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলকে সতর্ক করেছে, এছাড়া সাধারণ জনগণকেও এ ব্যাপারে সতর্ক থাকার অনুরোধ করেছে।

র‍্যাব-১ এ বিষয়ে গত ৩১ ডিসেম্বর ২০২০ তারিখে সংস্থাটির ওয়েব সাইটের মাধ্যমে জানায়, "৩১ ডিসেম্বর ২০২০ তারিখ ০৯৩০ ঘটিকায় র‌্যাব-১, উত্তরা, ঢাকার একটি আভিযানিক দল গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে রাজধানীর বিমানবন্দর থানাধীন ঢাকা-ময়মনসিংহ হাইওয়ের কশাইবাড়ী রাস্তার মোড়ে অভিযান পরিচালনা করে ভূমি মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব পরিচয়দানকারী প্রতারক ও মাদক ব্যবসায়ী মোঃ সাজেদুর রহমান সাজিদ (৪০)'কে গ্রেফতার করে। এ সময় ধৃত আসামীর নিকট হতে ১৯২৫ পিস ইয়াবা ট্যাবলেট, ১০ টি ভূমি মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব পরিচয়ের ভিজিটিং কার্ড, ০২ টি সরকারী জাল সীল, ০৫ টি মোবাইল ফোন, ১০ সীম কার্ড, ০১ টি পেনড্রাইভ, ০১ টি মেমোরি কার্ড এবং প্রতারণা করে হাতিয়ে নেয়া নগদ ৫,১২০/- টাকা উদ্ধার করা হয়।"

র‍্যাব-১ আরও জানায়, "ধৃত আসামীকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে জানা যায় যে, সে ২০০১ সালে রংপুর হতে বি.এ পাশ করে। পরবর্তীতে ২০১৫ সালে একটি প্রাইভেট কোম্পানিতে এসআর পদে যোগদান করে। ধৃত আসামী চাকুরীর পাশাপাশি বিগত ০১ বছর যাবত প্রতারণার সাথে জড়িত ছিল। সে নিজেকে ভূমি মন্ত্রণালয়ের অতিরিক্ত সচিব/জনসংযোগ কর্মকর্তা পরিচয় দিয়ে সাধারণ মানুষের সাথে প্রতারণা করে আসছে। ধৃত আসামী ভূমি মন্ত্রণালয়ে কর্মরত তহসিলদারদের চাকরিচ্যুত করার হুমকি দিয়ে তাদের নিকট হতে নগদ টাকা হাতিয়ে নেয়। এছাড়াও সে সাধারণ মানুষের সাথে প্রতারণার পাশাপাশি মাদক ব্যবসায়ের সাথে জড়িত বলে ধৃত আসামী স্বীকার করে। এর আগে সে ডিবি সদস্য হিসাবে পরিচয় দিয়ে প্রতারণামূলক কর্মকাণ্ড করায় পৃথক মামলায় গ্রেফতার হয়েছিল।"

//Fraudster impersonating ADL SEC of the Land Ministry apprehended//

RAB-1 has arrested a fraudster named Md. Sajedur Rahman Sajid who has been demanding money with 'bKash' by calling various officers/employees of field-level revenue administration over the different mobile numbers impersonating the Additional Secretary (Field Administration) of the Ministry of Land on December 31, 2020.

It is to be noted that, the active members of some fraud rackets have been organizing various crimes including deceiving and illicit dealing in narcotic drugs with the common people for some time by pretending the Additional Secretary (Field Administration) of the Ministry of Land. The matter was informed by the law enforcement agencies and several notices were issued in the newspapers. As a result, RAB started shadow investigation and increased intelligence surveillance, thus RAB-1 was able to arrest a fraudster named 'Md. Sajedur Rahman Sajid'. The land ministry has warned all concerned about fraud at all levels of field administration, and also urged the general public to be vigilant.

RAB-1 informed about this on 31st December 2020 through the website of the organization, "an expedition team of RAB-1, Uttara, Dhaka conducted an operation at the corner of Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway under Airport Police Station at 0930 hours on 31st December 2020 at 0930 hrs. ) (Md. Sajedur Rahman Sajid)'S arrest. 1925 pieces of yaba tablets, 10 visiting cards of Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Land, 02 fake government seals, 05 mobile phones, 10 SIM cards, 01 pen drive, 01 memory card and cash seized from the accused. 5,120 / - was recovered."

RAB-1 also informed, "The arrested accused was interrogated and it was learned that he passed BA from Rangpur in 2001. He later joined a private company in 2015 as SR. The arrested accused was involved in fraud for the last one year besides his job. He has been cheating the common man by introducing himself as Additional Secretary / Public Relations Officer of the Land Ministry. The arrested accused snatched cash from the tehsildars working in the land ministry by threatening to dismiss them. He also admitted to being involved in drug dealing as well as cheating with the general public. Earlier, he was arrested in a separate case for committing fraudulent activities under the guise of being a DB member."
